Biren turns down role in blockbuster drama "The Voyage"

After a 6 year hiatus, Biren was slated to return onscreen with a major role in 2013's year-end mega blockbuster drama "The Voyage". She was to play the major role of Huang Zhen Niang - a rich, authoritative, smart yet kind Peranakan lady. The role also requires her to play mother to MediaCorp stars Joanne Peh and Elvin Ng.

However, a 15cm cyst in her kidney was discovered just before filming commenced in April 2013. Biren had no choice but to turn down the role - a decision which she described as "regrettable", as filming in Malaysia and Mainland China might clash with her medical follow-up schedules. Nevertheless, Biren reassured her fans that there's still a chance to see her act in future.

黄碧仁患病辞演重头大剧

(新加坡讯)除了潘玲玲外，黄碧仁也因肾脏长了10公分水瘤，动手手术切除，因健康考量，她也不得不忍痛辞演年度重头剧《唐》。

《唐》监制谢敏洋证实黄碧仁因病辞演剧中重角，觉得已确定由同是《红星》视后的林晓佩顶上。

其实不少网友在面簿上已经纷纷讨论关于黄碧仁辞演一事，并觉得好不容易盼到“戏精”黄碧仁复出，如今却有失望扑空。对此，黄碧仁今早受访时也表示对辞演感到非常遗憾。

她说：“就在第一场《红星》之前去塑身，结果她们说我左右边腹部不匀称，我摸了摸也觉得不对，后来去做扫描，才发现肾脏长了10公分像网球大小的水瘤。后来赶紧去开刀，因为如果爆破会有并发症风险。我出院当天正好是文永出殡当天....”

黄碧仁说，因医生担心她伤口会撕裂，因此她不能抱女儿或重物，因《唐》会拉队到大马和中国唐山拍摄，她担心复诊等问题，所以最后还是决定辞演。她最后一次出现萤幕是多年前的《幸福双人床》。

她说：“其实，现在老大刚考完小六会考，小的又上幼儿班，我在时间上其实可以应付，也很想复出做自己喜欢的事，毕竟拍戏还是我的passion。不过，看了文永的情况后，我觉得健康还是最重要，所以决定先养好病才复出，大家还是有机会再看到我拍戏的啦。”
