Biren attended the Star Awards 2012 Show 1 at MediaCorp TV theatre on 22 April. She presented the Best News Story and Best Current Affairs Story awards alongside MP for Tampines GRC Mr Baey Yam Keng. She donned Mary Katrantzou's Multi-Coloured Hunky Dory Silk Dress for the night.
